Creating a NGO Brochure
You must work in pairs.

Use PUBLISHER
You must create an advertising brochure to get some help for a volunteering activity
You can ask for help for: 

 • an old people's home
  • clean up a river
  • animal shelter
  • teach kids computer skills
  • restore a local building
  • raise cash for starving people
  • town tour guide
  • plant trees and flowers

You must include: 
* The name of the NGO (Non-Governmental Organization)
* Logo and Slogan for your NGO
* Describe the NGO.
* Position Names
* Include a catchy phrase to attract more volunteers.
* The type of Compensation
* The type of volunteers you are looking for.
* What the volunteers' responsibilities are. (mention at least three)
* The time the volunteering work will last.
* Where the volunteers are going to work 
* Who the beneficiares will be 
*The skills the person will require (mention at least three) 
* Include pictures to enhance the ad
* Be creative and make it catchy and interesting to see and to apply for the volunteer position.

CHECKING LIST:
* Creativity (The brochure must be interesting and catchy)
* Mechanics (NO mistakes in grammar and vocabulary)
* Pictures (The pictures are good quality and enhance the content)
* Classwork (The students work during the assigned time)
* Content  (All info is included)
* Quality of information (The information is appropriate and meets the requirements)
* Professionalism (Students hand in the brochure on the due date)
* Printed Copy (The students hand in a printed copy of the brochure)

ORAL PRESENTATION - BUSINESS PROPOSAL



Date: October 9th/16th

You must wear FORMAL CLOTHES.

You must use a slideshow presentation to introduce your business.

You must show the video you created.

The presentation must last 5 - 7 minutes.

All members must talk about the project and the time must be the same for each member in the group.

You must present the information without reading.

It's your responsibility to bring a flash drive  with your power point presentation saved in it.

ORAL PRESENTATION - OCTOBER 9TH / 16TH


- You will have one lesson to work on your Oral Presentation and Powerpoint. 
- You must wear formal clothes when presenting and you must look professional. 
- All member must present and you all get the mark you deserve in order to assess your effort and responsibility as well. 
- You must create a Google Presentation or Powerpoint to show to prospective investors. Refer back to your business plan. Include pictures of the owners.  This will be presented to the class. Be prepared to use the PowerPoint as an outline as you present your business to potential investors (the rest of the class).
 - You must introduce your business proposal, the logo, slogan and the description of positions. You must include a 30 SECONDS VIDEO to advertise your business. 

The POWER POINT will be assessed and everybody in the group will get the same mark. The Oral Presentation will be assessed individually.

When creating the power point, please consider:

* CLASSWORK (You worked actively both lessons)
* CREATIVITY (It is creative and enhances the presentation)
* CONTENT (It contains all the information)
* IMAGES AND PICTURES (It includes pictures of the business, the owners, workers, a map, charts, etc. )
* GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY (no grammar or vocabulary mistakes)
* EFFECTS AND ANIMATION (They are used correctly and don't distract the audience)
*  TEXT (It is not too short neither too long, it must be 50% text and 50% images)
* PROFESSIONALISM (Everything looks perfect and nice, all details are covered )

CREATE YOUR VIDEO - 4TO M. GRECIA

You must create a video to advertise / promote your business

* It must last more than 90 seconds and less than 150 seconds.
* It must be similar to an informercial or TV commercial: Describe your business, Be clear about the benefits and why people should be part of your business.
* Include your logo and slogan and some music.
* Use MOVIE MAKER - It is not OPTIONAL
* Include your voice and invite people to buy your products or service´
* Don't forget that you are promoting your business and you must be creative.
* YOU HAVE TWO LESSONS TO WORK ON THAT.

LOGO AND SLOGAN - JOB DESCRIPTION

Assignment 2.1:
*Design a logo for your business. You may use Publisher, Paint, Power Point.
*This symbol must represent your business effectively and give your customers a visual representation of your business.
*Design it carefully because it will appear on most of your company’s literature. The logo should be colorful and creative, but not necessarily complex.
*Keep it simple, crisp and catchy. Presentation is everything!
*Explain why the logo represents your business. (4 sentences)


Assignment 2.2:
*A slogan is a catchy phrase used by a company to help consumers or customers remember their business.
*The shorter the slogan is, the better, because it will be easier to remember.
*Write a short slogan that will be used to represent and advertise your business. It should not be more than six or seven words.
*Explain why the slogan represents your business. (4 sentences)

Assignment 3:
*
Write your own detailed description of 5 of the positions you will need filled in your business. These must be on separate pages.
*Refer to your business plan for the number of employees that you decided on. Use the Internet to look up samples of job descriptions for your business type.

* The job description must contain all of the following:
1. Position Title
2. Compensation (Pay) (Research this and be reasonable.)
3. Summary of Job (3 sentences)
4. List of specific qualifications/skills (5 sentences)
5. List of specific duties and responsibilities (5 sentences)
6. Education needed

BUSINESS PROPOSAL

CREATING A BUSINESS INSTRUCTIONS  
(CUARTO MEDIO GRECIA)


You will be working in groups of 2 - 3  for this project.
You will work class after class in a different assignment. 
You will have a week to give your teacher a final copy of your Class task. 

Think about the different kinds of businesses in the Chimbarongo - San Fernando area. You will have to decide on what type of business you are going to start. 
You may not start any type of establishment that deals with alcohol, or any type of “club”. 
You may use the Internet to get ideas. Your teacher has final approval on your choice.
Write a business proposal using the format: Double-spaced text with headings in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. It must contain all of the information listed below. 
1. Name of your business
2. Hours you will be open
3. What do you do? (Fix, sell, build, feed, serve, help?)
4. Location of the business. Is it a small, rural community or a large, urban community?
7. Why do you think your business will succeed?
8. Graphics/Visuals to help convey your ideas—could be photos, organization chart, map, etc. 
Due date: Monday, October 2nd (Bring a printed copy of the Business Proposal)



EVALUATION
Each student is responsible for reporting / telling the teacher what he/she did in each class period. They must include the task report when sending the document.
